Tongji Design Week!
Biomimicry is a fast-emerging, cross-disciplinary science, engineering and design practice. It studies and emulates lessons from nature to create more sustainable man-made technologies, methods and products. Biomimicry is incredibly inspiring and promises to resolve some of the real causes of human’s sustainability problems. BiDL will hold a series of 5 customized events, including exhibition, conference, forum, public lecture and field trip during Oct 10th – 27th, 2014. These events will leave you with a sense of potential and empowerment to drive your own work toward sustainability — a wealth of sustainable models already exists right outside our doors! Join us right now!

Exhibition and Seminar about Shanghai’s Natural Genius
Through the courses that Ms. Seema Anand is teaching and through the BiDL’s research work we will create a first impression of what Shanghai’s natural context could teach us for the creation of human artifacts, processes and systems!
Keep the date: Afternoon of December 14, 2013!
These are the items that we intend right now (subject to change):
1.Installation featuring 3D, participatory and interaction items
2.Natural artifacts
3.Contributions from biomimicry practitioners
4.Inspirational games illustrating the benefits of biomimicry
5.Case studies of local organisms and how they apply to human creation
6.Students’ studio projects in biomimetic design
7.Video clips of biomimicry processes
